Blueprint for Better Film Series at A’19!

Short film screenings & the AIA Film Challenge

Make plans to check out the Blueprint for Better Film Series at A’19, hosted in partnership with the Architecture & Design Film Festival!

Film Series

The Film Series will be a relaxed environment complete with couches, complimentary snacks, and refreshments. So, take a break and stop by the Westgate Hotel’s Pavilion Four for a flick.

Marking the launch of the 2019 AIA Film Challenge, the Blueprint for Better Film Series will debut a new documentary short about how design can address climate change. The film highlights New York architect Illya Azaroff, AIA, who collaborated with federal agencies and building product manufacturers to design a resilient, sustainable home for Diane Hellriegel, who lost her home during Superstorm Sandy. Azaroff has made plans for the Hurricane Strong house available to architects and builders for free, in hopes that they will be used and modified to build homes capable of withstanding future disasters.

The Blueprint for Better Film Series at A’19 will also screen several short film programs and feature films. Below are a few noteworthy programs to consider, but check out the conference schedule for the complete lineup, including a special AIA Film Challenge Information Session and several feature films worth 1 LU/RIBA.
